Your Creative Journey
Guided by master potter Fabio Lenti, this course will take you through every step of working with clay. It’s a hands-on and theoretical journey, from raw material to the finished piece.
What You’ll Learn
- Introduction to materials: understand the tools and materials you’ll be working with.
- Wheel modeling: Fabio will guide you through creating the base form of your work.
- Decoration and glazing: With enameling and decoration you will add unique colors and details.
Each step is carefully explained, including traditional techniques like drying and spontaneous decoration, making each piece truly special.
Full Immersion Ceramic Course: What We Will Do
The course will start around 4:30 pm with a guided tour inside the workshop.
During the tour, we will show you all the fundamental phases of creating a ceramic object. We will see together:
- Production on the wheel
- Drying
- First firing
- Glazing
- Decoration
- Second firing
Afterwards, the master Fabio Lenti will give a practical demonstration, creating a ceramic object before your eyes. You will also be introduced to an ancient technique of drying and impromptu decoration, typical of the ceramic tradition.
After the demonstration, it will be your turn to "get your hands dirty"! Guided by the master, you will have the opportunity to put into practice what you have learned and create your object, just like you have seen in our reels and carousels.
The final goal of the course, in addition to the creation of your own ceramic piece, is to allow you to acquire and experiment with the basic techniques to be able to work independently on the lathe.
Ceramics Course: the phases of the lathe and decoration course
The 4-hour course, supported by an expert teacher, begins at 4:30 pm and will be developed in different phases:
Workshop Tour
We’ll start with a guided tour exploring:
- Throwing on the pottery wheel
- Drying and first firing
- Glazing and decorating
- Second firing
During the tour, Fabio will also demonstrate an ancient technique of drying and spontaneous decoration.
Demonstration
Fabio will demonstrate in practice how to use the lathe to create ceramic objects and will explain the basic techniques of processing and finishing.
Hands-On Workshop
After the demonstration, it’s your turn to get your hands dirty and create your own ceramic object. Under the guidance of the master, you’ll put into practice what you’ve learned and try the basic techniques to work independently.
